I just did and am nervous because sources online says it will be too warm.

I’m considering moving it to cover the planting rows after laying on a layer of mown leaves-yes, small plot. I noticed that the moles/voles were very active under it in the winter and was considering making them an advantage. 😁Any thoughts?]]> I didn’t know Sunset was the way to go, thank you.
I finally made the leap this past season, but got the fuzzy stuff. 😉

We overhead water right now so will need to switch to drip when we start with weed barrier fabric

Hi Kimberly,

We pull up our fabric and store it for the winter. We also sometimes plant a cover crop to help revitalize the soil. If you have other questions, feel free to let us know.

1 year into my flower farm and I’m getting ready to prepare for winter here in SE Michigan. I used drip irrigation and landscape fabric. Once pulling and storing my drip irrigation, should I leave or store the landscape fabric for the winter? In addition, do you recommend tilling the soil before the winter? Or simply cutting back annuals and tilling in the spring?

Thank you SO much.
Kimberly

We’ve been using landscape fabric for years but have cut it and it’s such a mess! I can’t wait to try burning the holes next spring!

Hi Fara- we use cardboard and mulch around the peonies for weed control. It really helps!
