I need to add grasses next season. I’m making wreaths and enjoying it so much. Thanks for the article and the book suggestion earlier. I bought and am using Hannah RoseMuller’s book. Thanks again.

I’d love to see the Latin for the plants you suggest for easy reference. Also, do you have a reference book for ornamental grasses and flowers for drying? Much Gratitude

Just cut them above the water line and hope they stay in place? Thank you !]]> Hi! Quick question about mixing fresh flowers with dried, in vase arrangements. How can I avoid the dried flower stems from touching the water (dried flower stems and water are a bad combination 😊)? Just cut them above the water line and hope they stay in place? Thank you !

I have also been pressing some of my flowers and leaves especially as I have had an absolute plethora of forget-me-nots.
I was also given some herbal salvias that have been fantastic especially as we have had humming bird hawk moths visit and enjoy the salvias!
And now, after a hot dry spring and a soggy summer, we have 30°c in September in Cornwall ! Phew and the garden is having a hurrah for the sun, several plants that thought they were finishing are now having another bloom! Thankyou Lord for the garden and the flowers!

Gypsophila dries very well and keeps its white colour and is a perfect filler.
Dahlias (double/multi petalled) are tough when dried and comes in variety of colours (best ones are pom-poms)…there’s a video on YouTube on ‘Gardeners World’ in UK of a lady who grows Dahlias just for drying.
Gomphrena – comes in lots colours and keeps its colour when dried.
Im experimenting using double flowered Zinnias this year (2023) as they also come in lots of colours and of good size.
